Baby Body

I don't embarrass easily nor am I very self-conscious. But, I am really bothered by my body since Danica has been born...specifically, my stomach area. I know that I have birthed 3 babies. Because I didn't spread or gain weight anywhere else, my stomach was stretched to its limit. But, now, post baby it is NOT CUTE. I look like I'm still 5 months pregnant!

So, I have been working on it for a few weeks now. I know it hasn't been long at all but I am seeing no results yet. I'm still working though. I was hoping to comfortable enough for a bathing suit this summer but that may have to wait a year. Ugh!

I still can't wear quite a bit of my pre-pregnancy clothes. But I refuse to buy more. Why? Because I WILL get back into them. I have been fortunate most of my life to not really have to worry much about weight gain. So, this is bothering me big time.

I will track my progress and if I ever get a post-baby body where people don't say "you look good to have 3 kids" but instead just say "you look good" I will be so very happy.

With a daughter like mine, you have to have a very good self-esteem. She has asked me a few times if I'm pregnant with a baby brother. She's laughed at my stomach. I can't wait until she's in the same predicament in 20+ years because payback is a mutha.

If you're having problems I know I'm in trouble!! This whole having back to back babies is something else. I am going to keep working on it and hopefully that bathing suit will be a reality. I know you can do it Bridge and you will. A friend of mine said when her tummy got out of control running and giving up meat for a while helped her shed the pounds and tone quickly. Good luck.

I know how you feel. I still have a few people asking me if we have another one on the way. At one point I was really trying to lose the tummy and it was working. However, my milk supply began to slow down and I am sure it was because I was not eating enough calories and then I was exercising off the rest. Needless to say, I stop and my stomach looks bigger somedays more than others but my milk supply is better. Our son is 8 months and the longest I will breastfeed is 24 months. I have decided to eat healthier but not less and to stop eating at a certain time and moderately exercise. After I stop breastfeeding, I will put alot more energy into getting my stomach back down.

With you, you should give yourself some time. Danica is about to be 4 months. It took you 9 months to have her. Don't stress yourself. Breastfeeding is going to help bring your tummy down and eatting right/exercise. Other than pregnancy this is probably the only other time that you have a good excuse to have a not-so-perfect tummy. As long as you entire body is not overweight you will be O.K. The tummy will flatten as you continue to work on eatting right and moderately exercising. The muscles have to build themselves back up and you have to heal from your surgery.

Oh yeah, I did wear a girdle or some type of garment around my tummy during the early months after having our son. It worked some. So you may want to try that.

Girl you are reading my mind these days. I am desperately trying to lose my baby tummy and Preston is 10 months old. I am back at the same weight pre-pregnancy and all my old clothes but my belly does NOT look the same. No more stretching it out for me! I am going to start doing The 10 Minute Trainer videos my friend at work gave me. I will let you know if it works.
