Just Stuff

I'm at work and all kinds of random stuff is in my head so this will probably have a lot of unrelated info in it. I know I should be doing my work but I just don't feel like it right now.

  • If anyone who reads this ever totals their car, please understand that it will not be worth what you paid for it or probably even what you expect for it. It is not in perfect condition. All cars depreciate the moment you drive it off the lot. Accept that please and be nice to your friendly insurance representative when they tell you this same info. It's the truth! I just got off the phone with a man who owns a 1985 Oldsmobile Delta 88 (yes it's 20 years old) and he is convinced that it is worth something. It's not!!! And, unless he totally restores it, it will never be worth anything. Thank God you survived the accident and move on. (Sorry DB, but I had to write this even though you told me not to)
  • If anyone needs a reason to restore their personal relationship with God, they should move to Texas. If hell is hotter than this, I am not interested in going there. Of course, that's not the only reason or best reason to know God, but it will be a benefit. I am so hot right now!
  • I think the best thing about having a child is that you get to experience naivete, innocence, and simplicity all over again. Example: My daughter gets excited every single time she sees a motorcycle and tells me over and over "see cycle, cycle". Her dad has one so I guess that's why she thinks it's so cool. She's also very excited that she can almost count to 10. She always leaves out the 4 but we congratulate her anyway. It's so cool to see her learn and grow up. The simplest things give her so much amusement.

Okay, my phone is ringing so I'll stop for now. Eventually, I'll have more interesting stuff to talk about. Oh yeah, I also wanted to add that the pregnancy is probably not as bad as I made it sound in my previous posting. I got a lot of sympathy emails and I really appreciate it. I guess I just had to whine for a moment.

Motherhood

Yesterday, I had something to do so the kids went to their old sitter's house for a few hours. We got home later than intended so I knew I would be rushing to prepare dinner, get them bathed, and settled for the night. Here's what really happened. As soon as we entered the house, Brayden started running around saying "Mommy, I have to pee". So we rush into the bathroom and as soon as his pants are unbuttoned, he starts peeing on himself. I clean him up and decide they can play in the tub while I start preparing dinner. As soon as we get to the kitchen, Danica throws up all over me, herself, and the floor. So, I take her to our bathroom and bathe her. Before I can get her pj's buttoned up, Brayden starts screaming "I have to pee!" Because he just went all over the bathroom floor, I'm a little perplexed. I run to their bathroom anyway only to find out he didn't have to pee, he had to poop and had already dropped two bombs in the bathtub where his s...

In Memory...

Staff Sergeant Javares Washington was killed in Kuwait. He was my cousin. My cousin died yesterday...in Kuwait...and I'm so very sad. I feel like I can't breathe. My heart is broken. We grew up like siblings. His mom had him at a very young age. She wasn't ready to take care of him. So, he lived with us for years. He was like my brother. And now, I'm in shock. I'm going to miss him so much. The military has only said he was in a government vehicle on patrol and it flipped over. We don't know what caused the flip or anything. I want to go home. He was married and had two children. His son, Jayden, is 6 years old and looks just like him. His daughter, Tristin, is 9 months old. My heart is broken.

Love at First Sight

I am absolutely in love with this little girl. Danica was born with a heart murmur but we found out today it's no longer there. We are so happy with this little perfect being and can't wait to get to know her more.
