Just Stuff

So, Danica was crying and I couldn't get to her right away. By the time I did (maybe 5-10 minutes) she was very upset with me. Danae and Brayden tried to calm her but it didn't work. So, I picked her up and started singing "Jesus Loves Me" to her. It's something I have done with all of my children because it tends to calm them and keeps me calm as well. Brayden came to me and said "Stop Mommy." When I asked why, he said "that's my song so you can't sing that to her. You need to choose a different song."

I'm supposed to get serious about getting my body in shape. So, why did I just polish off half a box of Thin Mints. Girl scout cookies are the devil! I'm so glad they're not available all year long. I'm not going to mention the other junk I've eaten in the last couple of days. I really need to get on the ball, especially since my Trini friend and I say we're going to train for a 5k.

I sing the same song to our two little ones. In fact, our daughter will help me sing to our new son. She will also sing by herself to him if I am busy and ask her to. Sometimes he calms down and sometimes he gets even louder when she does it. Maybe you can ask Brayden to sing it with you to her.

I know what you mean about the cookies. I have the Trefolis. I can eat half a box easy. I don't know the calories for Thin Mint but for Trefolis it is 170 for 5 cookies. So I try to limit myself to 10, my excuse is that I am breastfeeding and need more calories.

The best time to get in shape is now. Don't do too much before your check up, but do something. I would use my walking tape and walk 2 miles a day M-F. It really brought my weight down and now I just need to take time to tone.

Brayden is tooo funny. My mom told me that when we were really young she took my sis and I to New York. As soon as the plane took off we started singing Jesus Loves Me...at the same time and no, we didn't plan it. lol

Thin Mints are my weakness for real. 5K? I thought it was 1K? j/k

I still sing "Jesus love me" to my kids. He definitely soothes them.

Motherhood

Yesterday, I had something to do so the kids went to their old sitter's house for a few hours. We got home later than intended so I knew I would be rushing to prepare dinner, get them bathed, and settled for the night. Here's what really happened. As soon as we entered the house, Brayden started running around saying "Mommy, I have to pee". So we rush into the bathroom and as soon as his pants are unbuttoned, he starts peeing on himself. I clean him up and decide they can play in the tub while I start preparing dinner. As soon as we get to the kitchen, Danica throws up all over me, herself, and the floor. So, I take her to our bathroom and bathe her. Before I can get her pj's buttoned up, Brayden starts screaming "I have to pee!" Because he just went all over the bathroom floor, I'm a little perplexed. I run to their bathroom anyway only to find out he didn't have to pee, he had to poop and had already dropped two bombs in the bathtub where his s...

In Memory...

Staff Sergeant Javares Washington was killed in Kuwait. He was my cousin. My cousin died yesterday...in Kuwait...and I'm so very sad. I feel like I can't breathe. My heart is broken. We grew up like siblings. His mom had him at a very young age. She wasn't ready to take care of him. So, he lived with us for years. He was like my brother. And now, I'm in shock. I'm going to miss him so much. The military has only said he was in a government vehicle on patrol and it flipped over. We don't know what caused the flip or anything. I want to go home. He was married and had two children. His son, Jayden, is 6 years old and looks just like him. His daughter, Tristin, is 9 months old. My heart is broken.

Love at First Sight

I am absolutely in love with this little girl. Danica was born with a heart murmur but we found out today it's no longer there. We are so happy with this little perfect being and can't wait to get to know her more.
