Hong Kong - Jan 20 to 24

We traveled to Hong Kong to celebrate Danae's 3rd birthday. It was a little chilly but we still enjoyed ourselves. Hong Kong is known as a shopping paradise in Asia. You can definitely find things there that you won't see anywhere else, but it is a little pricey. As usual, I'll run through everything we did while there.

Jan 20:
We arrived early evening so we didn't do much. Ate dinner and walked around a bit. We stayed at Marco Polo Gateway at Harbour City Mall in Kowloon.

Jan 21:
My baby turned 3 years old!!! So, we went to Disneyland, of course.

For those of you with children or who plan to have children, can you please take your little black babies to Asia. A lot of the Chinese people we ran into have never seen black children. They wanted to touch their skin and hair. It's crazy! Don't believe me? Here's proof.

This girl and her friends were all over my baby. And, he was eating it up!

Hong Kong Disney is nice! Dwayne says it's about the same size as Disneyland in California. I've only been to the Orlando version and it doesn't compare. We had fun though. The only bad part was all the people staring at us and trying to touch the kids. We've been stared at for 4 months now and we still haven't gotten used to it.

That evening, we went to an Italian restaurant for Danae's birthday dinner. I know what you're thinking. Why did we go to an Italian restaurant in Hong Kong? I don't know really. But the food was excellent and Danae enjoyed herself and that's really all that matters. We actually didn't eat any Chinese food the entire time in Hong Kong. Sad, huh?

Okay, blogger is taking way too long to upload my pictures so I'm going to finish this little recap tomorrow.

Talk to you later...

How exciting to spend your 3rd birthday in Hong Kong! That girl is going to have some stories to tell when she is older, hopefully she'll remember some of this trip. Danae looks so grown up! We miss you all terribly.

I saw the photo album. You all look like you had so much fun. The kids look like they had the most fun. I was wondering what the people were doing with Brayden. I want to go to the diamond store. Was it overwhelming the amount of people in Hong Kong?

OOOHHHH! You all look so good together. We miss you all so much. Danae is growing up to be so beautiful. Of course I loved her hair (braided). Make sure you tell her that. Less than a couple of months and you all should be back home. Keep enjoying your time there.

I was wondering what was going on with the Chinese ladies and Brayden thanks for the clarification. Danae looks all grown up (like a girl not a baby) U all look like u had a blast and ur kids are going to have such great stories to tell when they grow up...uv given them such a great experience. I'm so disappointed abt the shopping in Hong Kong I always heard that the shopping there is really cheap (at least so my filipino friends used to say)

Motherhood

Yesterday, I had something to do so the kids went to their old sitter's house for a few hours. We got home later than intended so I knew I would be rushing to prepare dinner, get them bathed, and settled for the night. Here's what really happened. As soon as we entered the house, Brayden started running around saying "Mommy, I have to pee". So we rush into the bathroom and as soon as his pants are unbuttoned, he starts peeing on himself. I clean him up and decide they can play in the tub while I start preparing dinner. As soon as we get to the kitchen, Danica throws up all over me, herself, and the floor. So, I take her to our bathroom and bathe her. Before I can get her pj's buttoned up, Brayden starts screaming "I have to pee!" Because he just went all over the bathroom floor, I'm a little perplexed. I run to their bathroom anyway only to find out he didn't have to pee, he had to poop and had already dropped two bombs in the bathtub where his s...

In Memory...

Staff Sergeant Javares Washington was killed in Kuwait. He was my cousin. My cousin died yesterday...in Kuwait...and I'm so very sad. I feel like I can't breathe. My heart is broken. We grew up like siblings. His mom had him at a very young age. She wasn't ready to take care of him. So, he lived with us for years. He was like my brother. And now, I'm in shock. I'm going to miss him so much. The military has only said he was in a government vehicle on patrol and it flipped over. We don't know what caused the flip or anything. I want to go home. He was married and had two children. His son, Jayden, is 6 years old and looks just like him. His daughter, Tristin, is 9 months old. My heart is broken.

Love at First Sight

I am absolutely in love with this little girl. Danica was born with a heart murmur but we found out today it's no longer there. We are so happy with this little perfect being and can't wait to get to know her more.
