Mid Week Fun

This is who I hung out with last night...




And this is where we went..........to the Disney on Ice show.




Fun times!

I almost had a great night of sleep too until I was awakened around 4:30 this morning with a leg cramp that had me in tears. That sucka would not ease up. Dwayne rubbed and stretched. I rubbed and stretched. Eventually, I just got up and started walking around, afraid every minute that I would hit the ground. It left and I went to sleep again to be wakened by Brayden declaring his hunger.

Oh the things a mother must deal with. This is why Oprah says it is the hardest job on earth (I agree).

Motherhood

Yesterday, I had something to do so the kids went to their old sitter's house for a few hours. We got home later than intended so I knew I would be rushing to prepare dinner, get them bathed, and settled for the night. Here's what really happened. As soon as we entered the house, Brayden started running around saying "Mommy, I have to pee". So we rush into the bathroom and as soon as his pants are unbuttoned, he starts peeing on himself. I clean him up and decide they can play in the tub while I start preparing dinner. As soon as we get to the kitchen, Danica throws up all over me, herself, and the floor. So, I take her to our bathroom and bathe her. Before I can get her pj's buttoned up, Brayden starts screaming "I have to pee!" Unnecessary Comment

If you know me, you know I am not easily offended. But this comment...it kinda got to me a little bit. Luckily, it happened over the phone. Other Person: Your baby is so pretty. Me: Thank you. Other Person: She really is beautiful. The other two just weren't as pretty as she is. Me: (Long silence) I can't believe you just said that. I won't bore you with the details of the rest of the conversation. But, is it just me, or was the last part of that statement just really not necessary. I would've had absolutely no problem with just the first part but don't compare my kids and, in essence, put down my other two. Thank you if you think my baby is pretty. I do too. Now, let's just leave it at that. Ugh... My next post will be much happier and filled with pictures and commentary on my wonderful, although way too short, trip to Florida.

In Memory...

Staff Sergeant Javares Washington was killed in Kuwait. He was my cousin. My cousin died yesterday...in Kuwait...and I'm so very sad. I feel like I can't breathe. My heart is broken. We grew up like siblings. His mom had him at a very young age. She wasn't ready to take care of him. So, he lived with us for years. He was like my brother. And now, I'm in shock. I'm going to miss him so much. The military has only said he was in a government vehicle on patrol and it flipped over. We don't know what caused the flip or anything. I want to go home. He was married and had two children. His son, Jayden, is 6 years old and looks just like him. His daughter, Tristin, is 9 months old. My heart is broken.
