Let's Get Personal

So, Trini and I were talking yesterday about revealing personal stuff on our blogs. Some people treat their blogs like they're on a reality show. They reveal very personal triumphs and tragedies. It's probably very cathartic but also very scary. They really put themselves out there to perfect strangers. Anyway, I decided to try this out. Next week, every post is going to be some sort of a personal revelation. I don't know yet just how deep I'll go but I'm curious about how it makes me feel and the comments I'll receive.

So, if there's anything you have ever wondered about me, ask. Or, give me topic ideas. I already have some things in mind. If there's absolutely nothing you're curious about, just sit back and enjoy the ride. You'll definitely learn something new about me.

Danae's new phrase is "I'm frustrated". She's been saying it for a couple of days but Dwayne just heard it last night for the first time. He had to do a double take. She uses it appropriately too. I've been introducing new words to her vocabulary because she had been saying "I'm mad" all the time. We discussed her feelings and I now realize she would say she was mad but really meant frustrated or sad or confused.

I have to get a new car and I don't want to. Because I worked in insurance, I hate the thought of getting another depreciable asset that I have to actually spend money on. But, I need something to fit my growing family. I'm not even going to seriously look until January though. It will be an SUV of some sort and I really don't like trucks.

I will just sit back and enjoy the ride because I don't have any things I need answered. You sure you don't want to get a mini van? :-) I'm just joking with you because we discussed that before.

I can't wait to read your blog next week. We got our new mini van a little over a month ago for our growing family and I am sooo in love with it. I never thought I would like it especially since I loved my old car. It's got tons of good stuff in it, was a great price and had all the things you're supposed ask for when making this important purchase but the thing that sold me was the heated the seats--which comes in handy here in Indy.

Okay so I am very interested in finding out about your inner most thoughts. Right now I have nothing that I want to know about.

I did note that Danae's vocabulary is growing. If only you could be the mommy of some of the kids I work with. I would love to have her in my class. Well she wouldn't qualify for services.

Well the ride is on. I can only imagine the new things in store for me next week. Looking forward to the insight Bridge. Again, I am very happy for you and the family. No one does better with kids than you. I wish you were here, Peyton and Preston would really enjoy and learn a lot from you. God has given you a talent and patience with the little ones. On the car note, even though you won't start looking until January, at least start narrowing your options. Decide which ones you are interested in looking at and their features that way you don't have to look at SUVs you know you don't want.

Can't wait to hear what you have to say. I must say that revealing personal things can sometimes be refreshing.

Actually, now is the best time to buy a car because of them wanting to get rid of the 2008/2009 for the upcoming year of cars 2009/2010.

Motherhood

Yesterday, I had something to do so the kids went to their old sitter's house for a few hours. We got home later than intended so I knew I would be rushing to prepare dinner, get them bathed, and settled for the night. Here's what really happened. As soon as we entered the house, Brayden started running around saying "Mommy, I have to pee". So we rush into the bathroom and as soon as his pants are unbuttoned, he starts peeing on himself. I clean him up and decide they can play in the tub while I start preparing dinner. As soon as we get to the kitchen, Danica throws up all over me, herself, and the floor. So, I take her to our bathroom and bathe her. Before I can get her pj's buttoned up, Brayden starts screaming "I have to pee!" Because he just went all over the bathroom floor, I'm a little perplexed. I run to their bathroom anyway only to find out he didn't have to pee, he had to poop and had already dropped two bombs in the bathtub where his s

Baby Making (Or Not)

So, as I've said before, I'm getting my tubes tied this year. I have had so many people tell me they don't agree with this. I've been told that I should let God decide how many children we have or ask him to close my womb. I should wait and see if I want more children in the future. It's too permanent. What if something happens to my children and I decide I want more later. I honestly didn't expect to run in to so much opposition. First of all, it's my body and my decision. Secondly, I am absolutely sure that I don't want more children. And lastly, it really is my decision. The funny thing is that my friend who has 5 children has received a lot of criticism for the size of her family and was told repeatedly that she should've gotten her tubes tied. Now, there are other circumstances in that particular family that would warrant such remarks. But my point is that people are never satisfied. If we continued to have children, I'm sure someone would s

Christmas in September?

Apparently, living in Manila is going to provide plenty of material for me to write about. Here goes: We have been provided several books to help us adapt to life in the Philippines. Something we read was very beneficial for us yesterday. We went to SM which is a department store, furniture store, grocery store, and several restaurants all in one. Danae had to use the bathroom and guess what? There was no toilet tissue. No, they didn't run out. They don't put tissue in the bathrooms at all. No empty tissue holder or anything. Because I read about that, I had a little tissue stowed in my bag to use. In the grocery store, the most overwhelming shock was the stench. The entire back of the store is basically a butcher shop. Surprisingly, there were no flies or anything. But, the smell was gross. Danae held her nose while we looked around in there. I wasn't bold enough to purchase any meat yet. One day, maybe. Or, we'll just become vegetarians while we're here. In the cl
