Our New President

President Obama is so inspirational. I love to hear him speak.

This isn't the first time I've watched an inauguration ceremony. I love formal ceremonies in general and have watched the inaugurations since I was a child. But, this one just felt different. I can't explain how it made me feel. I made my children sit and watch the swearing in. They enjoyed hearing "Hail to the Chief" and Brayden marched around the room while it was played.

If I didn't happen to be 8 months pregnant, my family would've been among the masses in D.C. Apparently, it wasn't meant to be and we watched on the television while Dwayne and I texted each other. He watched at work.

I'll be happy to share my experience. All the crowds were worth it.

I went in person and it was absolutely fabulous. I also love inagurations and have watched them as long as I can remember...well starting w/ Clinton's first inaguration. The crowds were awesome. The spirit is amazing (I should be posting my pics soon). But it truly was not an event for people w/ children or the elderly. i saw so many parents out there with young children who were freezing and probably are sick now and it was upsetting. I also saw some very elderly again not so bright. My aunt works at the major hospital at the district and there were 20 ppl brought in from being stampeded and several w/ cold weather related symptoms. It was unfortunate. The spirit was beautiful but you could also enjoy it from home or even in DC at a hotel or indoors but the 15 degree weather at 4am was only for a small age range.
